March 15, 2008 Update: We are 97.9% done with our goal.

The goal of this website is to see Good News recordings made into every language on earth so that every person can hear about salvation through Jesus in their own language.  Currently on this site there are links to Good News recordings that can be understood by 97.9% of the people on earth.  When we started this project in 2003 only 78% of the world could hear the Good News on-line in their language.

More and more remote tribal peoples are finding access to the internet. We have met people from small language groups who when they went to a city and had access to a computer they searched on their language name and clicked on our links. Here is an e-mail we received from a person from a small language group who seems to say he became a Christian when he heard a recording from our site.

When a new Good News recording is made, we know that the speaker on the recording has heard the Good News and is given a chance to accept or reject Jesus.  This is a good first step to fulfilling the Bible verse at the top and making sure that the Good News is preached to all nations.  The Greek word for nations used in the original Greek is "ethnos" which means ethnic group or people group or language group.  Perhaps Jesus is postponing his return until this happens.

On this site you will find links to 5,457 languages (when divided by country) that have links to Good News recordings. In addition we list 1,272 languages (divided by country) where there is a Good News recording that has been made but is not yet on the internet.  We give you an address where you can order these cassettes from. If you add these two lists then 98.65% of the people on earth have a Good News recording in their language.

On our list 3 are 3,868 languages (when divided by countries) that don't yet have Good News recordings. The population of this list 3 is only 1.34% of the people alive today. There is much work to do to make Good News recordings in these remaining people groups.  BringJesusBack.org exists to show you how to make these recordings and set the stage for the return of Jesus since he said the end would not come until all people groups have heard about him.

We welcome visitors who are a part of the Purpose Driven P.E.A.C.E. Plan.  Rick Warren, the pastor of Saddleback Church and author of the best selling book "The Purpose Driven Life," has called for a global P.E.A.C.E. plan.  On his website www.PurposeDriven.com Warren describes the plan:  "P.E.A.C.E. is an acronym that stands for "Plant churches, Equip servant leaders, Assist the poor, Care for the sick, and Educate the next generation....  The emphasis calls for church-based small groups to adopt villages where spiritual emptiness, selfish leadership, poverty, disease, and ignorance keep people from experiencing the kind of life God wants them to have."

We are very thankful that God is raising up teams of people who want to go to people groups that have yet to hear the Good News.  The makers of this site spent many hours talking with P.E.A.C.E. Plan leadership and we developed this site as a tool to steer people who want to find a totally unreached people group and present them with the Good News and help entire communities overcome obstacles to development.

Years ago, we worked on the launch of the Joshua Project 2000 plan.  Since then, we have met several long-term church-planting teams that went out to new unreached people groups because of that effort.  However, for the shorter term teams, we found that many visited their people group but did not feel they made much contribution to reaching them with the Good News.  In some cases, they were never able to meet members of the people group for whom they went to pray.  From this experience, we have realized that when the teams are given a very specific project, like making a Good News recording, then the short-term trips have better focus and the results are better measured.  The goal of making a Good News recording forces a short-term team to find and meet members of people groups rather than just have a good sight-seeing trip.  An audio tool is created that is in much demand by the long-term workers to use in evangelism.

Joshua Project 2000 has evolved into the excellent website www.JoshuaProject.net .  I encourage anyone who is wanting information on people groups to start at that clearinghouse of information. 

Pray for us in this attempt to finish the job of getting the Good News into every language group.  We so much want to see Jesus worshiped by every tribe and language as it says in Revelation.  We want to see disciples made of all people groups as we were commanded by Jesus in the Great Commission of Matthew.  We dedicate this website to King Jesus.  He is coming again, and we are his obedient servants.
